“I suppose,” the Doctor said as he followed Rose’s gesture and saw the door on the other side, “when you can’t go up and you can’t go down, the best direction for you to go in is forwards. Alright, then, Rose Tyler.” He closed the door that opened into the void behind him— more out of habit than anything else, since he suspected nobody was around to accidentally fall down it. “Let’s go forwards and see what this place has to offer esteemed adventurers such as ourselves.”“Esteemed adventurers,” Rose echoed with a more than amused expression, glancing back at the closed door before making way for the one opposite it. “I thought we were just nosey.” She turned to face the Doctor once she’d reached the door, though she’d stopped once or twice to lean close to the structures in the room again, and she gestured across to it. “Let’s see what’s behind door number two?”
“Ehhh,” the Doctor waved a flippant hand in the air. “Alright, esteemed investigators, then, Miss Particular. Investigators are paid to be nosey, aren’t they? Well, we’re not exactly paid, but we’re certainly intrusive enough on our own without having to be paid, so I suppose it works. Now…” He tugged on the door handle— once, then twice, and the Doctor’s face broke out into a grin as he dug around for the sonic. “Oh, I do love a locked door. Don’t you love a locked door, Rose?”
